Proteus
About Proteus
The second largest moon of Neptune and one of the largest irregularly shaped moons known. About as large as a body can be without gravity pulling it into a sphere. Extremely dark, reflecting only about 6 percent of sunlight. Discovered in Voyager 2 images in 1989 after eluding Earth telescopes for years. Has a 230 km crater named Pharos. Named after the shape-shifting sea god.
