About Larissa
The fifth closest moon of Neptune. First detected in 1981 when it briefly blocked a distant star, then confirmed by Voyager 2 in 1989. Has a heavily cratered surface including a large impact basin. Its irregular shape points to a violent collision history. Named after a lover of Poseidon from Greek mythology.
