About Naiad
The innermost moon of Neptune. Discovered by Voyager 2 in 1989. Dodges collisions with Thalassa through a rare orbital resonance that keeps them about 3,540 km apart at closest approach even though their orbits overlap. Completes a lap around Neptune in just over seven hours. Its orbit is slowly decaying. Named after the nymphs of freshwater in Greek mythology.
