About Galatea
A small inner moon of Neptune. Discovered by Voyager 2 in 1989. Acts as the inner shepherd of the Adams ring, the ring with mysterious bright arcs. May be the source of the dusty arcs it herds. Takes about ten hours to orbit the planet. Named after a nereid, one of the fifty sea nymphs of Greek mythology.
