About Portia
The largest member of the Portia group, a cluster of small inner moons of Uranus. Discovered by Voyager 2 in 1986. Its orbit is slowly decaying due to tidal forces and it may eventually collide with a neighbor or break into a ring. Elongated in shape and dark gray. Named after the heroine of Shakespeares The Merchant of Venice.
