A Kreutz sungrazer discovered by amateur Terry Lovejoy in November 2011. Survived a death dive within 140,000 km of the solar surface, astonishing astronomers. Emerged with a ghostly tail and put on a spectacular dawn display. The first sungrazer observed by modern spacecraft throughout perihelion.
