About ISON Comet
A sungrazing comet discovered in September 2012 that promised to become spectacular. Watched by more instruments than any comet before it. Passed within 1.9 million km of the solar surface on November 28, 2013 and disintegrated. Believed to be a first-time visitor from the Oort Cloud. Discovered by Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok.
