About Ida
The first asteroid found to have a moon. Galileo imaged its tiny companion Dactyl in 1993, proving asteroids could have satellites. A member of the Koronis family, born from an ancient collision. Its surface is heavily cratered and elongated. Discovered by Johann Palisa in 1884. One of the most studied asteroids thanks to that flyby.
