About Metis
The innermost known moon of Jupiter. Orbits within the main ring and helps feed it with debris. Discovered in Voyager 2 images in 1979. Irregularly shaped, about 60 km long and 40 km wide. Its gravity shepherds the main ring. Likely slowly spiraling inward due to drag from ring material.
