About Io
The most volcanically active body in the solar system. Over 400 active volcanoes. Surface constantly reshaped by lava flows. Tidal heating from Jupiters gravity drives the volcanic activity. No impact craters visible because lava covers them. Discovered by Galileo in 1610. Emits a plume of sulfur dioxide 500 km high.
