About Lysithea
A prograde irregular moon of Jupiter belonging to the Himalia group. Discovered by Seth Barnes Nicholson in 1938 on the same night as Carme. Named after a daughter of Oceanus from Greek mythology. Orbits about 11.7 million km from Jupiter. Likely a captured fragment of a C-type asteroid. One of dozens of tiny outer moons cataloged before spacecraft imaging.
