About Ceres
The largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The only dwarf planet in the inner solar system. Bright spots on its surface are salt deposits suggesting geological activity. Studied by the Dawn spacecraft from 2015 to 2018. Contains about one-third of the asteroid belts total mass. May have a subsurface ocean of liquid water.
