Tethys
About Tethys
A mid-sized moon of Saturn made almost entirely of water ice. Home to Ithaca Chasma, a canyon system stretching 2,000 km, three-quarters of the way around the moon. The crater Odysseus is 435 km across, about 40 percent of the diameter. Discovered by Giovanni Cassini in 1684. Two small Trojan moons, Telesto and Calypso, share its orbit. Has the lowest density of any large moon in the solar system.
