About Prometheus
The inner shepherd moon of the F ring of Saturn. Repeatedly dips into the F ring and gravitationally carves channels and streamers out of it. Has an elongated shape stretched about 136 km from end to end. Discovered in Voyager 1 images in 1980. Named after the fire-bringing Titan of Greek mythology. Cassini watched it disturb the ring on every orbit.
